The Renaissance Music Week
is held every year either in the Passion Week or in the Easter week. Subject of the course is European music of the 16th century. Playing and singing together alternates  with lessons in mixed ensembles and with instrument-specific groups. We make music mainly from original notation and as authentically as possible (pitch: 440 Hz). At the beginning an introduction to reading of historic notation will be given.
The course is offered young people and adults with at least some musical experience.  Accomodation is in double and single rooms with individual  bathrooms in the
guest house of the  Landesmusikakademie Sondershausen.

Terms of the upcoming event: Monday, April 2nd, 2018, until Sunay, April 18th, 2018. We start with supper on arrival day and we end the course with breakfast on departure day. The time-table of the days is:

9.00 - 9.50 Choir for all
10.00 - 12.00 Mixed ensembles with voices and instruments for all
13.30 - 18.00 Tutoring in individual subjects (two lessons for every attendant)
19.30 - 22.00 Playing and singing together
