The Renaissance Music Week is held every year either in the Passion Week or in the Easter week (with exceptions during the pandemic).
Subject of the course is European music of the 16th century.
Playing and singing together alternates with lessons in mixed ensembles and with instrument-specific groups.
We make music mainly from original notation and as authentically as possible (pitch: 440 Hz).
At the beginning an introduction to reading of historic notation can be offered upon request.
The course is offered young people and adults with at least some musical experience. Accomodation is in the guest house of the Landesmusikakademie Sondershausen, featuring double and single rooms with individual bathrooms.
Default date for the upcoming event: Easter Monday 18 April 2022 through Sunday 24 April 2022.
For the eventuality of disadvantageous pandemic conditions in spring, a reserve period and location are Saturday, 23 July 2022 through Friday 29 Juli 2022 at the Jugendhof Vlotho.
We start with supper on the arrival day and we end the course with breakfast on departure day.
The time-table of the full days is as follows:
|9.00 – 9.50||Choir for all|
|10.00 – 12.00||Mixed ensembles with voices and instruments for all|
|13.30 – 18.00||Tutoring in individual subjects (two lessons for every participant)|
